Thermostatic mixers not only mix cold and hot water supplied by the system to the desired temperature, but they also keep it constant during the whole shower.
Compared to a standard thermostatic mixer the positioning of the cartridge is inverted in the “cold body”. The hot water comes directly into the thermostatic cartridge without passing through the entire body of the mixer itself. In this way only a small part of its metallic surface is heated up.

The thermostatic mixer allows you to choose the water temperature and so not wasting water to mix and to reach the desired temperature.
